Music: I Will Always Love You

At one time or another we lose someone dear to us.
Even though we're grateful for having had them
in our lives, sometimes the pain of losing them
is almost unbearable.
This page is dedicated to those we've loved and lost,
and to those they left behind.

Two years ago I lost my mom to cancer. I think I've
dreaded the day I'd lose her since I was a
little girl.
I miss her everyday, and often reach for
the phone to tell her what's going on, just to stop
suddenly, and remember she's not going to answer.
My two cents of advice is,talk with
and appreciate those you love while
you have them. It saves having to regret
what wasn't said later - when it's too late.

She was quite a personality, my mom. She travelled all over
Europe and Canada and made friends where ever she went.
Months after she'd been to Denmark to visit me,
people she'd met on her trips around Europe would call my house
and ask to speak to her - long after she'd gone home.
There's hardly a shop-owner in my little town who doesn't
ask how's she doing. She made an impression on all those she
met, because she always had time to listen - and she always
took an interest in others.

She's been an inspiration for many of my lyrics.
I've been lucky to have so many wonderful composers who have
given me the opportunity to write lyrics to their wonderful
music. Niels Henning Orsted Petersen, the world famous bass player
and composer asked me to write about all the people we've loved
and have lost. The album is out on Verve records and is called
"For Those Who Were".

"For Those Who Were".
Sometimes a thing can change your life forever.
A someone you don't know is at your door.
They bring into your life a little magic,
And then become a someone you adore.

Hold on - to each and every moment
Our Summers turn to Fall
And those we've loved have turned to memories
Who wouldn't love and lose
Than not know love at all.

Remembering those times we spent together
I wonder why those moments had to end
Why everything we love is taken from us
Yet, somehow know we'd do it all again.

I hold on to each precious moment
And then, when I recall
The joy that's filled with every memory
Id' rather love and lose,
Than not know love at all.

Take a peep at my other pages - thanks!
