Me and Mine

I love traveling, music, composing, reading, writing,people,
art, puzzles, children, teaching,games, kitty cats and much,
much more- If a day were 48 hours long, life would be pure bliss -
how else can we do all the things we love?

Teaching English and Music I teach English, music, choir and orchestra at a small
private school in Denmark. Our school is 125 years old.
That might seem old to an American, but it's peanuts to a Dane.
It's a wonderful little school with app. 210 pupils and 18 teachers.
Our school goes from kindergarden to 10th grade. What is special
about our school, besides having a wonderful learning environment is,
all our students learn 4 languages: Danish, English, German and French.
We also have a lot of music. Our school has an orchestra, and 2 choirs.
The languages are important for learning about other people and their cultures.
Music is an international language - if you can't speak together -
you can always hum a tune!

Singing I also have many wonderful song students.
They say that every other person in this little country
plays music in some form or another.
I will soon have my song technique pages up and running

Vocal Ensemble ExDjazz
My vocal ensemble "ExDjazz" is a semi-professional choir.
I have 30 great singers and a fabulous 6 man band that accompanies
us on all our jobs. (not to forget our great sound man Brian)
I write and arrange for my choir and band.
Our repertory is a combination of jazz, swing, rock, pop, funk,
soul, gospel, and musical numbers.
To me, it doesn't matter what style the music is,
as long as it has quality!!!!

My Family
I originally come from sunny California but somehow
ended up in not so sunny Denmark!
I have 3 sisters; Terri, Reneé Stacey,and my brother Ron all living in
California. (not to forget Lynn my wonderful sister-in-law and Jerry,
Willem and Mark - 3 great brother-in-laws!) My nieces and nephews;
Jessica, Natalie,Shaun, Toni and Matthew are really kids on the go!
If I'm lucky, I get to say hi to them coming in and out the door!
I miss them a lot - thank Goodness for e-mail!

Lyrics
I've had the great pleasure of having many of my
lyrics recorded by some of the greatest jazz vocalists in Europe.
I've been writing lyrics together with one of Denmark's leading
composers; Jorgen Emborg for 12 years now.
I'm also writing with one of the world's greatest bass players;
Niels Henning Orsted Petersen. Niels Henning is so incredible a musician,
that he started playing with Oscar Peterson at the age of 17!!
And last, but not least - Niels lan Doky, a fabulous pianist
composer, publisher and producer. It is incredible what Niels
can accomplish in a normal working day!!
It's quite an honor to write lyrics for these talented musicians.
It was also quite a thrill to see some of our albums at the
music stores in the U.S.

My son Jon
My son Jon is quite the world traveller.
At 24 he's travelled all around Europe, lived and worked in
London for a half year, stayed in California and worked
for Uncle Ron for 6 months and worked in Finland for one year!!

Jon loves languages (like his mom) and is studying English,
French and German - hoping to eventually become a translator,
so he can travel even more!

Here's one of my favorite pictures of Jon and his cousin Shaun,
when Shaun came to visit us in Denmark. 2 red-headed vikings!

Last summer Shaun came to visit us, all on his own.
Here are the two vikings, then and now!
